Diocesan Museum
Museo Diocesano 1 - Fine Art Produzioni

The Diocesan Museum is housed in the bishop’s palace, an elegant Mannerist style building, attributed to Domenico Gagini, dating back to the first half of the 17th century. It now houses a permanent exhibition of ecclesiastical or religious works of art and temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The permanent exhibition is called “Recovery and Restitution. Acquisitions and restoration in the Piazza Armerina Diocese.” It offers visitors several works of great value, such as a large painting of St. Andrew the Apostle from the late 16th century, the Immaculate Conception dated 1603 and the Deposition from the mid-17th century, which are all from the Grand Priory of St. Andrew.
