The Olive Harvest in Piazza Armerina
Enjoying the excellent  Sicilian  olive  oil and  participating in  the harvesting and production of olives is a non  traditional  experience  that  needs to be lived, immersing yourself in the authentic atmosphere of the Sicilian hinterland.

 

The tour begins with the olive harvest on an old farm not far from the historic center of Piazza Armerina, a territory rich in olive groves from which much of the Sicily’s oil production is derived. Picking the olives one by one and placing them in a wicker basket or on a tent, is still carried out by Sicilian families today, creating a moment of intense family gathering and cheerfullness. The harvested olives will then be taken to the various mills in the area for cold milling.
