To be able to grasp the true meaning of authenticSicily and experience the area located between theErei mountains and the majesticEtna,the tour offers a visit toAidone associated with the discovery of the typical colors and flavors of the hinterland.

 

After having visited the historic center of the village with its majestic churches in yellowish sandstone and characteristic areas accompanied by a licensed tour guide, or after having dedicated a few hours to off track trekking, for example in Morgantina or at the Mining Park of Floristella- Grottacalda, we recommend you visit the Aidonese dairy farm, called Centro Form, where, among other cheeses, the millenary “Piacentinu ennese” is produced; it’s yellow due to the presence of saffron in its ingredients.  This cheese, widely used in the national and European market, is produced with fresh milk from farms of native Sicilian breeds and cared for in every detail of each processing stage. The dairy company passes this activity on from father to son for the production of typical Sicilian cheeses. You have the possibility of assisting in the preparation of Piacentinu ennese DOP and Pecorino Siciliano DOP and discover its secrets.
