The 24 Spouts (Granfonte fountain)
Granfonte 8 - Fine Art Produzioni

Built in 1652 by Nicolò Placido Branciforti, designed on the ruins of an earlier Arab fountain, among other things, it had the task of bringing water to the overlooking Botanical Garden. In baroque style, this aquatic monument measures 24.60 meters, it is 2.55 meters deep, and is characterized by 22 round arcs that reveal the rural landscape behind it without blocking it. The 24 bronze rods that give it its name gush fresh water every day of the year with the exception of Good Friday, as a sign of mourning. The front is designed from the three risers with a tympanum, enriched with bas-relief connected to the sides with scrolls. It is a symbol of Leonforte, reproduced thousands of ways and as an icon in public places and private homes.
